Registration for SOAR will open on February 1st, 2023. You must be admitted to register for SOAR.

What is SOAR?

SOAR (Summer Orientation and Registration) is a 1-day orientation experience that is designed to introduce you to the university and ease your transition into college life. You will also register for your classes and attend a variety of information sessions. SOAR is a mandatory event for all incoming freshmen to attend.

Online SOAR Registration Instructions

You will need to have access to your UT Martin portal information in order to register for SOAR. To find your username and password, click here. The steps to find the online registration form are listed below.

  1. Log in to your myUTMartin Portal
  2. Select "SOAR Registration." It is listed under your Student links.

*In order to receive a refund on your SOAR payment, you must notify the Office of Admissions two weeks prior to your SOAR date that you no longer wish to attend.

Immunization Requirement

Upload your immunization records or immunization exemption documentation via Med+Proctor before you move in/classes start. All requirements, exemptions, and instructions are available at It takes 24-48 hours for your records to be processed.

Important Health Note:The General Assembly of Tennessee requires first-time students to provide proof of immunity or immunization for measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), and varicella (chicken pox) prior to class registration. If you plan to live on campus, you will also need to provide proof of the meningitis vaccine. State law also mandates that incoming students be informed of risk factors and dangers of meningococcal disease and hepatitis B. Who should attend SOAR?

The student must attend SOAR in order to register for classes for the fall semester. Parents/guardians are strongly encouraged to attend.

Why attend SOAR?

You get the chance to learn about UT Martin’s curriculum and campus resources, register for summer and/or fall classes, meet faculty and advisers, and begin to develop lifelong friendships with other new students. SOAR is the time to become acquainted with out campus culture, and SOAR will make you even more excited to be part of the Skyhawk family. SOAR is a mandatory event for all incoming freshmen to attend.

What should I wear?

Will I have to pay tuition and fees at SOAR?

No, tuition and fees will not be due until Aug 31st.

How do I get my new Skyhawk ID? (UT Martin Student ID Card)

Before attending SOAR, we encourage you to upload a clear, current, quality photo of yourself at This will allow you to not have to wait in the photo line at SOAR, and your ID will be in your student folder upon arrival. Photos will be taken at SOAR for those who do not get a chance to upload their photo.

Where will SOAR be held?

In-Person SOAR sessions will be held in the Boling University Center at UT Martin. The address for the UC is 11 Wayne Fisher Dr., Martin, TN 38237.

Virtual SOAR sessions will take place via zoom and other online platforms.
